The newsroom on Armenian Street
PressMotion is an independent digital news publication built around a live desk — the news in motion for Singapore and APAC readers.
Who we are
PressMotion Media Pte. Ltd. operates an independent digital newsroom from 36 Armenian Street, #02-04, in Singapore's Bras Basah civic-arts district. We publish original reporting, analysis, explainers and features across Singapore news, Business, Technology, World and Culture — filed by correspondents and editors who treat verification as a daily discipline, not a slogan.
Our name reflects how we work: "Press" means the news press — journalism with bylines, sources and a corrections policy — not a PR or press-release distribution wire. "Motion" means the news in motion at a live desk: timely dispatches, timestamped updates and honest caveats when stories are still developing. The .pro domain is branding only; we are a newsroom, not a motion-graphics studio, marketing agency or paid placement service.
What we cover
We serve readers in Singapore and the wider APAC region who need current affairs coverage with editorial judgement. The business desk tracks enterprise, regulation and markets; the technology desk follows infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital policy; the world desk monitors diplomacy and trade; the culture desk covers arts, publishing and civic life. Breaking news receives live updates on the wire; longer investigations and explainers are labelled clearly so subscribers know what they are reading.
We are not a gossip mill, rumour channel or affiliate listicle site. We do not publish crypto pump material, betting tips dressed as news, or unverified claims about named individuals stated as fact. Opinion and sponsored content are labelled and do not influence news coverage.
Editorial values
Independence, accuracy, fairness and transparency guide every publishing decision. Reporters attribute claims, distinguish news from analysis, and correct significant errors promptly with amendment notes beside updated articles. We welcome story tips and protect confidential sources where appropriate. Our masthead lists editorial roles; we do not invent audited circulation figures or fake award badges.
PressMotion is an independent digital news publication. We aim to report accurately, fairly and independently; to distinguish clearly between news, analysis, opinion and any sponsored content; and to correct significant errors promptly. Opinion and comment reflect the authors' own views. Reporting reflects the information available at the time of publication and may be updated as a story develops.
How we are funded
Revenue comes from clearly labelled display advertising, optional reader membership from S$8/month, and occasional grants for investigative projects where funders have no editorial input. No single advertiser may exceed fifteen per cent of total revenue. Membership supports reporting in the public interest; it does not buy favourable coverage or guaranteed headline placement.
Advertising and sponsored content are physically and visually separated from news sections. Editors reject story ideas on merit, regardless of who submits them. Paying PressMotion does not purchase a news article — a distinction we repeat because our name is sometimes misread.
Bras Basah context
Armenian Street sits in a precinct where institutions, galleries and heritage buildings neighbour start-up offices and campus extensions. That mix mirrors our coverage mandate: policy and culture are not separate worlds. A conservation decision affects small businesses; a technology consultation shapes how residents experience everyday services. Reporting from this address keeps the newsroom close to the city it covers — on a low floor, accessible, and embedded in a neighbourhood that values both history and forward motion.
Press freedom and independent media matter in the public interest. We publish for readers who expect press coverage they can trust — and for subscribers who choose to fund that work through optional membership and our newsletter briefing.
