Frequently asked questions
How PressMotion operates as an independent digital newsroom — updated 9 July 2026.
Is PressMotion a PR / press-release wire or a motion-graphics studio — and can I pay to have a news article published?
No. PressMotion is an independent digital news portal that produces its own original reporting, live updates, analysis and features. "Press" means the news press — journalism with editors, correspondents and a corrections policy — not a PR or press-release distribution wire where organisations pay to syndicate announcements. "Motion" means the news in motion at a live desk: timely dispatches and timestamped updates, not a motion-graphics or video-production studio. The .pro top-level domain is branding only.
We label opinion, analysis and any sponsored content clearly. Paying PressMotion does not buy a news article, headline placement or favourable coverage. Advertising is separated from editorial sections and does not influence news decisions. If you are seeking paid media placement or press-release distribution, you need a different kind of service — that is not what we offer.
What sections do you cover and how often do you publish?
We publish across Singapore news, Business, Technology, World and Culture throughout the week from our Armenian Street newsroom. The front page carries a lead story and secondary headlines; the latest feed updates as desks file dispatches. Major features and explainers publish when verification is complete — we prioritise accuracy over volume. Subscribers receive a newsletter briefing summarising section highlights.
How do you verify stories and handle corrections?
Reporters cross-check claims against primary documents, on-the-record statements and independent sources. When information is incomplete, we say what we know and what remains unclear. Breaking news items receive timestamped updates. If we publish a significant error, we correct it promptly with an amendment note beside the updated article. Request corrections via our contact form with "Correction request" selected.
What is the difference between news, analysis, opinion and sponsored content?
News reporting presents verified facts with attribution. Analysis interprets those facts and is labelled as analysis. Opinion and comment pieces reflect named authors' views and are labelled accordingly. Sponsored or affiliate content is clearly marked and never presented as independent journalism. Our editorial standards require visible labelling on every section of the site.
How is PressMotion funded — and does funding influence coverage?
Revenue comes from clearly labelled display advertising, optional reader membership from S$8/month, and occasional grants for investigative work where funders have no editorial input. No single advertiser may exceed fifteen per cent of total revenue. Membership supports reporting in the public interest; it does not grant editorial influence. We do not accept payment for news articles.
How do I send a story tip — and will you protect my identity?
Use the contact form and select "News tip / story lead." Include verifiable detail: what happened, when, where, and how we can corroborate it. We protect confidential sources where appropriate, but tips with no corroborating pathway are difficult to pursue. Submitting a tip does not guarantee publication.
What does newsletter membership include?
Membership from S$8/month includes our daily briefing email, ad-light reading on selected pages, and early notice of major investigations. It does not include paywalled public-interest coverage — essential reporting remains accessible. Cancel anytime; see Terms of Use for billing details.
How do you handle personal data under Singapore's PDPA?
We collect personal data through enquiry forms, newsletter sign-ups and optional analytics cookies only with appropriate consent. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at [email protected]. See the Privacy Policy for retention periods, access rights and PDPC contact information.
What does PressMotion not do?
We do not publish paid-for news articles, clickbait rumour, misinformation, or unverified claims about named individuals stated as fact. We do not offer financial, legal, medical or investment advice. We do not publish crypto pump material, betting tips dressed as news, or affiliate listicles disguised as reporting. We are not a PR wire, motion studio or marketing agency.
Do you accept reader comments — and what are the guidelines?
Reader comments may be enabled on selected articles when moderation capacity allows. We remove material that is defamatory, harassing, hateful or clearly off-topic. Comment sections are not a tip line — send story leads through the contact form. We may disable comments on sensitive coverage where moderation cannot keep pace with verification duties.
PressMotion is an independent digital news publication. We aim to report accurately, fairly and independently; to distinguish clearly between news, analysis, opinion and any sponsored content; and to correct significant errors promptly.
